When the call is proclaimed for the Salât (prayer) on Friday (Jumu'ah prayer), come to the remembrance of Allâh [Jumu'ah religious talk (Khutbah) and Salât (prayer)] and leave off business (and every other thing), That is better for you if you did but know! (9) Then when the (Jumu'ah) Salât (prayer) is ended, you may disperse through the land, and seek the Bounty of Allâh (by working, etc.), and remember Allâh much, that you may be successful (10)),(خطاب من هللا) (O you who believe): Allah (swt) is addressing the believers (ي أ ي ہ ا ٱل ذ ين ء ام ن و ا ( o you do not find Allah (swt) saying (O mankind) ( ايها الناس (يا when it is linked to success, why? Because the condition to success is belief, subhan Allah. o ( ن ود ى ل لص ل و ة م ن ي و م ٱل ج م ع ة (إ ذ ا (When the call is proclaimed for the Salât (prayer) on Friday (Jumu'ah prayer),): as soon as you hear the time for prayer, you need to: (come to the remembrance of Allâh): come to the prayer, this (ف ٱس ع و ا إ ل ى ذ ك ر ٱ لل ( is for the males especially regarding the congregational prayer. (and leave off business (and every other thing)): the prayer is the (و ذ ر وا ٱل ي ( foremost in your priorities ( من أولى اهتمامه.(الصالة That is why there is no success when the business is being placed over the prayer it should be the other way around. Don t think about urgent, but what is important. And when you place the prayer first, then you will even find even your time-management will be better. For example, you need to send a message or pray, what should you do first? Pray. People think if I finish everything then I can be relaxed when I pray, but what if something happens and you are unable to make that final prayer? Is anyone going to ask you why didn t you send a message, subhan Allah. When you put your priorities first, then your life will be organized. Though your business is urgent, but you need to leave it for the prayer. And you will find if you pick to do something else rather than pray first, it will take longer that you originally expected, why? Because there is no blessing in the time. Whereas if you pick the prayer first, then you will find Allah (swt) will put barakah in your time and make your tasks easy, subhan Allah. People think if I keep my business open during prayer time while everyone else closes then I will be more successful, but that extra money that comes in at that time is not blessed, subhan Allah. And alhamdulliah that it is only during the time of the Friday prayer, and not the whole day, other religions have to end all types of work for the whole day. o ( ق ض ي ت ٱلص ل و ة (ف إ ذ ا (Then when the (Jumu'ah) Salât (prayer) is ended): So after the Friday prayer, what is the command? When we are busy, we can easily forget the remembrance of Allah (swt). (that you may be successful): it is a guaranteed success when you make (ل ع ل ك م ت ف ل ح ون ( your priorities the greatest rewards / most beloved deeds to Allah (swt), you seek the favors of Allah (swt) in your heart, make an effort, and remember Allah (swt) much. And sometimes we find ourselves spoiling ourselves by getting things we desire, subhan Allah. o They are muttaqeen and they are successful, but what is in between guidance from Allah (swt) so it shows that Allah (swt) is The First and The Last. They are not mutaqeen just like this, but they went through so much nurturing from Allah (swt) and learning from decrees in life. ال م )٠( ت لك ء اي ت ٱل ك ت ب ٱل ح ك يم )٢( ه د ى و ر ح م ة للل م ح س ن ين )٣( ٱل ذ ين ي يم ون ٱلص ل و ة و ي ؤ ت ون ٱلز ك و ة و ه م ( :5 Surah Luqman (Alif Lâm Mîm [These letters are one of ) ٱ ل خ ر ة ه م ي وق ن ون )٤( أ و ل ٮ ك ع ل ى ه د ى لمن ر ل ه م و أ و ل ٮ ك ه م ٱل م ف ل ح ون )٥ ) the miracles of the Qur'ân, and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings.]. There are levels of one s islam: Islam iman and the highest is ihsan. What is the definition of ihsan? To worship Allah (swt) as if you see Him, and if you do not see Him, then He sees you. These are two levels of ihsan and the first is the highest, to do things as if you see Allah (swt) so this is doing with longing of Allah (swt), whereas the other is with fear because you know Allah (swt) is watching you. و لت ك ن لمنك م أ م ة ي د ع ون إ ل ى ٱل خ ي ر و ي أ م ر ون ٱل م ع ر وف و ي ن ه و ن ع ن ٱل م نك ر و أ و ل ٮ ك ه م ٱل م ف ل ح ون ( :104-105 Surah Al Imran (Let there arise out of ()٠١٤( و ل ت ك ون وا ك ٱل ذ ين ت ف ر ق وا و ٱخت ل ف وا م ن ع د م ا ج ا ء ه م ٱل لين ت و أ و ل ٮ ك ل ه م ع ذ اب ع يم )٠١٥( you a group of people inviting to all that is good (Islâm), enjoining Al-Ma'rûf (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism and all that Islâm orders one to do) and forbidding Al-Munkar (polytheism and disbelief Page 3

So those who believe in him (Muhammad SAW), honour him, help him, and follow the light (the Qur ân) which has been sent down with him, it is they who will be successful) o Who are the successful ones in this ayah? ) They believe in the Prophet (pbuh) that he is a messenger sent by ء ام ن وا ه ۦ ( Allah (swt) they honor him :(ع ز ر وه ( how do you give victory to the Prophet (pbuh)? Nowadays, people think أ و ل ٮ ك ه م ٱل م فل ح و ن ( anyone who follows the sunnah is not successful, subhan Allah. But the success Page 4

Why is someone considered successful if they follow the Prophet (pbuh)? Because all of the points for success mentioned are following the Prophet (pbuh). When you sleep, sleep like he sleeps, when you eat, eat like he eats, etc then you will be successful. إ ن م ا ك ا ن ق و ٱل م ؤ م ن ي ن إ ذ ا د ع و ا إ ل ى ٱ لل ور س ول ه ۦ ل ي ح ك م ي ن ه م أ ن ي ول و ا س م ع ن ا و أ ط ع ن ا و أ و ل ٮ ك ه م ( :51 Surah An Noor (The only saying of the faithful believers, when they are called to Allâh (His Words, the (ٱل م ف ل ح ون Qur'ân) and His Messenger (SAW), to judge between them, is that they say: "We hear and we obey." Unlike the hypocrite who speaks words of truth, but does not believe in his heart. o If there is a matter that needs to be judged between the believers, then they need to س م ع ن ا ( say refer to Quran and Sunnah. For example, when you hear this is what Allah (swt) said, His prophet (pbuh) said, don t say but.. don t put another person s word before Allah (swt) and His messenger (pbuh). Or you hear that Allah (swt) said there is cure in honey, don t say that s oh yeah that s what the scientists say, subhan Allah. o When you hear and obey what Allah (swt) and His messenger (pbuh) have said, then you will have a successful life. When you are lacking in worship, don t give an excuse if you don t wake up for prayer, don t give an excuse. You need to confess and alhamdulliah that is between you and Allah (swt). How can you reach success while being lazy? Subhan Allah. To be really successful, don t put goals that can be seen, because if you achieve them, then you can get lazy, but put unseen goals forgiveness and paradise, so that you always continue to strive to be successful. o ( و أ و ل ٮ ك ل ه م ٱل خ ي ر ٲ ت ) (Such are they for whom are the good things): someone who struggles will reach, but someone who is lazy will not have goodness because they just Page 5

Success is about knowing your priorities. o The rights should be towards those who are near to you, meaning family. If you want to know the reality of a person, see how they are at home. A person outside is always wearing a smile and being good, but what about at home? Subhan Allah. o Then those who are poor, then the wayfarer, whom you will see once and not again. o ( ذ ٲل ك خ ي ر للل ذ ي ن ي ر يد و ن و ج ه ٱ لل ): if you want to see Allah (swt) then be good to those who are close to you because no one will praise you.
